Simple principle: We don't collect, store, or sell your personal data. Your content belongs to you, and you control where it's hosted.
Data Collection
The Postalgic iOS app operates with minimal data collection:
- No Personal Information: We do not collect names, email addresses, or other identifying information
- No Usage Tracking: We don't track how you use the app or what content you create
- No Analytics: We don't use third-party analytics services that track your behavior
- Apple Statistics: Anonymous usage statistics may be shared with Apple if enabled in your device settings
Your Content and Data
Your blog posts, media, and content are stored locally on your device and published to hosting services of your choice:
- Local Storage: All content is stored on your device using iOS's secure storage mechanisms
- Your Hosting Choice: You decide where to publish your content (AWS S3, FTP, etc.)
- No Cloud Storage: We don't store your content on our servers
- Full Control: You can export, backup, or delete your content at any time
Third-Party Services
When you choose to publish your blog, you may use third-party hosting services:
- AWS S3: Subject to Amazon's privacy policy when used for hosting
- FTP/SFTP Servers: Subject to your hosting provider's privacy policy
- Git Repositories: Subject to your Git provider's privacy policy (GitHub, GitLab, etc.)
- Direct Connection: Postalgic connects directly to these services without intermediary storage
Postalgic Pro
For users of our upcoming hosted service, Postalgic Pro:
- Minimal Data: We only collect information necessary for account management and billing
- Anonymous Analytics: Traffic statistics are collected without personal identification
- No Content Analysis: We don't read, analyze, or process your blog content
- Data Portability: You can export your content and analytics at any time
